Don't you know who I am? Kate Moss is turned away from Pulp's surprise Glastonbury set

By Georgina Littlejohn

But I'm Kate Moss! The supermodel was seen arguing with Glastonbury security who turned her away from Pulp's surprise set yesterday

She might be one of the most famous faces in the world but even Kate Moss can sometimes go unrecognised.

Because while she might have had VIP passes for this year's Glastonbury festival, that just wasn't going to cut it with security.

Looking a little dishevelled, the supermodel was seen arguing with bouncers who refused to let her in backstage to watch Pulp play last night.

Kate, 37, was snapped looking upset as she tried to get into the backstage area by the Park stage.

But she got no further than a burly bouncer who appeared to be refusing to let her pass.

Surrounded by her friends, it looked like she tried to reason with the security man but whether she was successfully allowed in is unclear.

Kate arrived at Glastonbury yesterday with a group of friends to watch fiancé Jamie Hince play with his band The Kills.

She was seen cheering him on by the side of the stage, flashing her rock hands to her betrothed.

Earlier she was snapped arriving arm-in-arm with friend Hamish Bowles, the European editor-at-large for Vogue, at the festival looking every inch the rock chick in blue snakeskin print skinny trousers, a green T-shirt black leather jacket and Hunter wellington boots.

And she happily sloshed about in the ankle-high mud as she walked around with her friends.

She later met up with Jamie, who she is marrying next weekend, and shared a laugh as he navigated his way through the mud and almost got his boot stuck.

Pulp were one of the 'surprise' acts of the weekend and performed just two weeks after wowing the Isle of Wight festival.

Tens of thousands of people flocked to the Park Stage despite the set only being announced that morning.

It was Pulp's fourth Glastonbury appearance but their first for nine years and as they came on stage, frontman Jarvis Cocker told the crowd: 'We couldn't think of anything to get you so we brought the sunshine.'

After their set, which included some of their biggest hits including Disco 2000 and Common People, he added: 'Thanks Glastonbury, obviously it's been a very important place for us. When we played in '95 things took off for us and we went in a strange orbit around the earth, and now we're back home in one piece.'
