Society do: Kris Smith and WAG Rebecca Twigley joined the cream of Australian society at the Myer marquee party at the Emirates Melbourne Cup Day
His girlfriend Dannii Minogue is on the other side of the world coaching her much-loved Boys in a bid to win the X Factor.
But rugby player-turned-model Kris Smith still managed to enjoy himself during a day out at Australia's most prestigious horse race, the Melbourne Cup.
Catch up: He also mingled with Dannii's good friend Natalie Imbruglia at the Flemington race course
Kris, 33, posed for the cameras with Australian WAG Rebecca Twigley, 27 - but Dannii, 38, needn't be worried.
Not only is brainy beauty Rebecca engaged to Australian Football League star Chris Judd - Kris's dad was there overseeing proceedings.
Another guest keeping an eye on the handsome model was Dannii's close friend Natalie Imbruglia.
The Torn singer, currently filming the Australian version of the X Factor alongside Ronan Keating, caught up with Kris at the event
Generations of love: Dannii Mingoue's hunky boyfriend Kris Smith, who's also a new father to their baby Ethan, took along his father Eddie to the bash
VIPs: Natalie was not short of male company at the event, chatting to Miley Cyrus' on-off boyfriend Liam Hemsworth
Looking sophisticated in a draped polka dot dress, blazer and wide brimmed hat, the 35-year-old was not short of male company at the races, also chatting to Miley Cyrus' on-off beau Liam Hemsworth and international guest Enrique Iglesias.
The Hero heartthrob was decidedly underdressed for the prestigious event, turning up in jeans, a shirt and cap. Miss Imbruglia did not seem to mind his scruffy attire though, chatting animatedly to the Spanish singer inside the Emirates tent.
Kris is becoming a regular at the Melbourne Cup, also attending last year's event without his other half.
Scruffy: She also caught up with a very underdressed Enrique Iglesias
New boy: Danny Cipriani made his social debut, hanging out with fellow rugby players (l-r) Cooper Vuna, Wendell Sailor Adam Byrnes and Stirling Mortlock in the VIP tent
Dannii and Kris now split their time living between their London apartment and Melbourne since having baby Ethan in July.
They bought a £1million home in the plush Melbourne suburb of East Hawthorn just weeks before Ethan arrived into the world, as Dannii wants to bring him up in Australia near her family.
Kris is believed to be undergoing the process to become an Australian citizen too.
At the time of the move, a friend told Mail On Sunday : 'She is very close to her family and wants her mum and dad to spend as much time with the baby as possible.’

However, baby Ethan was back in Britain with his mother while his father mingled with Melbourne's great and good.
In fact, it looks like Kris has fitted right in with the Australian way of life - even without his Aussie other half.
He also said to have ‘acquired an Australian accent very quickly’.
Kris joined a crowd of 100,000 on the Flemington racecourse in the city for the 150th running of the event.

And he wasn't the only UK native in the VIP tent. Another Brit hoping for an Australian visa is Danny Cipriani, who chose the country's biggest social event to mark his arrival on the scene.
The rugby player, who also celebrated his 23rd birthday, enjoyed the spectacle with fellow rugby players, including new Melbourne Rebels team mates Cooper Vuna and Adam Byrnes.
Kelly Brook's ex was spotted chatting to a bevy of young beauties in the VIP area at Flemington race course.

The French-trained five-year-old Americain romped home, with favourite So You Think finishing third.
It was France's first victory in the Australian race, which is said to 'stop a nation.'
Meanwhile, Dannii's latest Marks And Spencer ad campaign was unveiled today.
The X Factor judge stars in the Fifties-themed Christmas special alongside Twiggy, Lisa Snowdon, Ana Beatriz Barros, VV Brown also includes Jamie Redknapp and Peter Kay.
