Protecting her modesty: Victoria Beckham couldn't resist a cheeky smirk as she put her hands over Eva Longoria's very revealing dress


We all need that one good friend who will tell you when your make-up is smudged, your tights have laddered or when you're flashing a little bit too much to the world.

And Victoria Beckham proved to be that friend to Eva Longoria last night as she protected her modesty from the cameras.

The fashion designer was sitting with the Desperate Housewives star at a charity bash last night when she took it upon herself to strategically placed her hands over the actress's plunging neckline.


As they posed for a picture, Eva's breasts could have been seen by all and sundry if it wasn't for the former Spice Girl and her quick thinking.

And Victoria, 37, couldn't help but smirk as Eva flashed a smile for the cameras while she held steady over Eva's breasts, which were now in no danger of making an appearance.

The pair were at a party thrown by Vanity Fair and Chrysler on behalf of The Eva Longoria Foundation, which was held at the actress's restaurant Beso in Hollywood.

And you'd have thought that Victoria would be surrounded by a team of make-up artists ahead of her attending the star-studded party.

But she's just a simple, down-to-earth girl like the rest of us who prefers the sanctuary and familiarity of her own bathroom in which to get ready and touch up our eye-liner

However not all of us would be brave enough to take a picture of ourselves slapping on the war paint ahead of a big night out.

But then again, not all of us look as good as the fashion designer who posted a photo of herself getting ready at home before heading out to a charity bash.

Someone - possibly husband David - took a picture of Victoria, 37, applying her eye make-up in the mirror of her bathroom as she got ready to attend a party thrown by her friend Eva Longoria and Vanity Fair.

And as she posted the photo, Victoria wrote: 'Getting ready for @Vanityfair @Evalongoria Foundation event, wearing favourite dress from AW12! Xvb.'

And also attending was fellow Brit Kate Beckinsale who also looked delighted to see her friend from home.

As the girls posed for a picture together, you could see that the last two weeks have taken their toll on poor Victoria, who looked very glamorous, but rather tired and she barely managed to raise a smile.

Hardly surprising though - she has been busy with her new collection for New York and London Fashion Week and is also being a doting mum to her seven-month-old daughter Harper.

But even though she probably was dying to kick off her heels get into her comfy clothes and have a nice quiet evening on the sofa, she managed to come out and support her good friend.

She looked very slender as she stood at her bathroom sink and applied liner in her blue dress with her trademark black zip up the back.

She was greeted warmly by Eva, 36, who she first met when she moved to Los Angeles four years ago when David signed for LA Galaxy.
