Prince Charles and Camilla have invited Kate to spend time with them when William is posted to the Falklands next month so she will not be lonely.
Friends say Kate, 30, is ‘dreading’ William’s six-week absence on a tour of duty in the islands as a search-and-rescue pilot.
She is expected to move from the couple’s Welsh farmhouse on the island of Anglesey to their cottage at Kensington Palace and intends to keep herself busy with visits to each of her new charities.
Time apart: Friends say Kate, 30, is 'dreading' William's six-week absence on a tour of duty in the Falkland Islands as a search-and-rescue pilot.
As well as Camilla’s invitation, aides say she will divide her private time between Kensington and her family’s home in Bucklebury, Berkshire.
‘Camilla sees Kate as another daughter,’ says a friend.
‘She knows Kate is concerned about William being away and has told her she is welcome at Clarence House whenever she wants.’
It is expected that Prince William, 29, will join his wife this weekend at their favourite holiday hideaway ahead of his RAF posting to the Falklands.
Kate jetted to Mustique via St Lucia first class on Wednesday, accompanied by at least two taxpayer-funded Scotland Yard bodyguards, along with her parents, brother and sister.

Eliza Lopes, have invited Kate to spend time with them when William is posted to the Falklands next month
Her husband of less than a year, Prince William, was left behind at their rented farmhouse on the island of Anglesey, North Wales, as he could not get time off work.
However it is understood that William, 29, will join his wife imminently after he finishes his weekly shift as a Search and Rescue pilot at RAF Valley.
The holiday will be a chance for the couple to spend some time together before the second in line to the throne is deployed to the Falkland Islands for six weeks next month.
