Happy couple: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge sat in the Royal Box on Centre court at Wimbledon

Tennis fans are sweltering in the 31c heat at Wimbledon today, but The Duchess of Cambridge looked as fresh as a daisy in a pretty white dress in the Royal Box on Centre Court.

Kate and William were at the tournament to cheer on British hopeful Andy Murray.

She has been a tennis fan for years - as have all the Middletons.

Pretty layering: Kate followed Wimbledon's specification that players must wear white

Pippa has attended the French Open and the Aegon Championships since her big sister's wedding earlier this year, and a polite thank you letter Kate wrote to Wimbledon a few years ago is currently on display at the All England Club.

Murray is being touted as Britain's strongest chance of a Wimbledon men's winner since Fred Perry in 1936.

The Scottish player won the Aegon Championships title on June 12, and is playing the French number 17 seed Richard Gasquet.

But all eyes were on the Duchess rather than the players on Centre Court today.

She was wearing Temperley's Moriah Dress which is on sale for £395 - but cost £795 before the sales started.

Pretty detailing: The white disks on Kate's shoulders will also remind Wimbledon-goers of a less successful recent fashion statement... Bethanie Mattek-Sands' jacket

The pretty, pleated white dress that gave a big nod to the skirts being worn by the women on the grass courts. But it also showed off Kate's thin waist and the layers gave her a beautiful silhouette.

The white disks on the shoulders will also remind Wimbledon-goers of a less successful recent fashion statement... the Lady Gaga-esque jacket Bethanie Mattek-Sands wore on Thursday, shortly before losing her first match.

Kate looked as composed as we have come to expect from the unflappable Duchess.

She chatted and joked with Gill Brooke, the wife of the Chairman of the All England Tennis Club who was sitting by her side.

The relaxed tennis fan also leant back to give Jane Henman, Tim's mum, who was sitting behind her, a kiss on the cheek before exchanging a few words with her too.
