And though she wasn't crying last night, the 27-year-old was wearing the result of the recent break up all over her face.

The outfit screamed defiance; a glorious evocation of what the 34-year-old is missing.

But Katy's face was showing the strain of this recent heartbreak keenly.

Mayer is said to have told the singer that he was a changed soul but running true to form, quickly became tired... they're not said to have remained friends.

'John did a real number on Katy,' a source told RadarOnline.com.

'She held off from his advances for the longest time, but he laid on the charm thick and promised her he was a changed man. She eventually gave in, fell head over heels for him and then - yep - once he had made his conquest, he dumped her.'

The website added that the couple were spotted at a friend's dinner party on Tuesday night, where they completely ignore each other.

Her ex-husband famously tweeted an unflattering make-up free picture of her, but singer Katy Perry clearly has no qualms about being pictured without her usual immaculate make-up - as long as she's in control.

The singer is seen on her upcoming tour film Part Of Me in a wardrobe fitting for her tour - and appears fresh-faced without her war-paint.

Thankfully it is significantly less embarrassing for the star, who was left red-faced when estranged husband Russell Brand tweeted a picture of her.

He had taken the snap in the middle of the night while she was still half-asleep.

Katy was said to be livid at the intrusion, but they soon kissed and made up, however the marriage faltered after just over a year.

The shot of Katy is seen as part of a trailer for her new warts and all film which she revealed will document her brief marriage to Brand.

She said: 'When you see the film, it’s a bit scary because there’s a lot of shots of me bloated with zits and normal.

'I think it’s important to start breaking down the idea that to achieve your dream you always have to be perfect or flawless or live in some kind of fantasy world.

'So that’s why I decided to put everything into the film,' Katy said.

'In the most tasteful way. But mostly it’s about how I go there and the ride along the way which can be bumpy but mostly it was extremely fun.'

The 27-year-old opened up to Ellen on her show about her new film, Part of Me, and how she decided to show a realistic account of her life in the feature, including her relationship with Russell.

Katy's news comes just a week after Russell, 36, told Ellen that he still loves his estranged wife.

The chat show host asked Katy about the 3D documentary, saying to her, 'of course you got married during that time and that didn't turn out to last, is part of it still in there?'

Katy told Ellen: 'I thought it was important to show everything in between. 'I think sometimes people think that we’re perfect and we know we’re not perfect, at all.'

Some reports suggested that Katy had cut Russell from the footage, but this interview finally lays those rumours to rest.

The couple have been granted go-ahead for a divorce but it will not be finalised until July, because California law requires a waiting period of six months.

They split just two months after their first wedding anniversary.

Katy was said to have been 'blindsided' when Russell filed for divorce just after Christmas.

The move came after the pair enjoyed separate holidays over the festivities, she in Hawaii and Russell in his native England.

The pair have both moved on, Russell has been linked to Brazilian artist Oriela Medallin and David Hasselhoff's ex Anouska De Georgiou, while Katy has had flings with Baptiste Giabiconi and Florence & the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd.

Meanwhile Katy will release her new single on July 2 with the 3D film to follow on July 5.

She already did her bit for Fleet Week by slipping on a patriotic American flag dress and performing in a concert.

But Katy Perry went one step further to salute the sailors at a special event in Brooklyn, New York on Wednesday evening.

The 27-year-old made one marine's dream come true as she passionately kissed him on stage in between performing her hit song, Part Of Me.

She had brought the handsome man in uniform to the platform, stealing his hat in the process.

Wiggling her hips, she coyly asked the crowd: 'Does it look good on me?'

The singer then asked the rowdy sailors whether they were familiar with an iconic Forties picture of a nurse kissing a sailor against the backdrop of Times Square.

Counting to three, Katy instructed the man to kiss her on the lips.

Dipping her back, he then eagerly locked lips with the brunette bombshell.

Earlier in the evening, the pop star showed her love for her country when she sported an American flag dress for her arrival at the Fleet Week show.

The satin frock looked like an asymmetric mini dress on first glance but was revealed in all its glory when she stuck her left arm out on the red carpet.

The dress then transformed into the Star-Spangled Banner – and if that wasn’t patriotic enough, the singer also gave a sweet salute.

Realising her dress was making a fashion statement, Katy kept the rest of her outfit simple.

Katy belted out her hit track Part of Me, sticking to the military theme of the occasion with her backing dancers sporting soldier style outfits.

Fleet Week takes place every year and sees military ships dock in various American cities across seven days so that the crews can see the sights.

She posted on her Twitter: ‘Sea men dock their vessels in the great city of NYC to experience the land from whence they came. I'm about to give them a show!’

While many of her famous peers have splashed out on expensive veneers to correct their troublesome molars, the 27-year-old has left her bottom row of teeth in their natural state.

When most people put on a pair of tracksuit bottoms, they're normally slugging it out at the gym - but not Katy Perry.

The 26-year-old singer looks picture perfect in the new Adidas commercial proving that exercise attire can be sexy too.

In the new advert, the U.S. star can be seen bearing her midriff as she dances with an array of female backing dancers.

Perry is seen wearing a pair of bright pink Adidas tracksuit bottoms dangerously low as she shows off her moves.

The Firework singer has teamed it with a pink and blue sports bra and matching trainers but rather than having her hair pulled up ready for a workout, Perry's dark curls fall over her shoulders as if she is ready for a glamorous night out.

The latest commercial from the global sports brand also features appearances from tennis player Caroline Wozniacki, the Staatsballett Berlin ballerinas and DJ Baby G.

The one-minute-long video is an extension of the Adidas commercial that was released back in March and a follow-up to one released by the brand last year.

Perry stars in both alongside David Beckham where they show off their athletic prowess in a variety of colourful garments.

The I Kissed A Girl hitmaker was filmed running along a boardwalk in Los Angeles in the clip as she donned a vibrant purple jacket and shorts.

She wore a peach vest top emblazoned with the Adidas logo, while her trainers were bright red.

The fluorescent outfit was a stark contrast to her bright blue hair, which she dyed just before she shot the advert in January, two weeks after she split from husband Russell Brand.

The singer also posed for another photo with the designer, as she wore a white dress emblazoned with colourful letters of the alphabet.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand have signed on the dotted line to finalise their divorce.

The pair have agreed to split their assets, and her husband of 14 months has waived any claim to the chart-topping singers £28million ($44million) fortune.

But despite the sad circumstances, in court papers which emerged yesterday detailing the end of their marriage, the quirky pop singer signed the legal documents off with an upbeat 'smiley face.'


According to Forbes magazine Brand is worth a relatively small £4million in comparison to the Firework singer's £28 million fortune.

The couple who married in October 2010 didn't sign a pre-nup, and as a result, in the state of California everything they earned during their 14-month marriage is deemed community property - which means their each entitled to 50 per pent each.

However with Katy making a huge $44 million between May, 2010 and May, 2011 - according to Forbes magazine, Russell stood to gain considerably more.

But the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star has waived any claim to the money the Teenage Dream singer made during their short-lived marriage.

However he will take a share of their assets, which may include a cut of the $6.5 million property, which he was seen moving out of a few weeks back.

Russell's lawyer filed final divorce papers yesterday. However the judge will make the divorce official on June 30, as there's a six month waiting period before the divorce is declared final.

Meanwhile the comic was seen heading to a yoga class the same day the papers detailing the end of his marriage emerged.

According to the papers filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court, Perry has gone back to her maiden name of Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson once.

In addition to keeping her money and her identity, the agreement also covers distribution of their property.

Perry's papers say, and she asks that the court not be involved in awarding spousal support to Brand.

In the paperwork filed by Brand, 36, he ticked a box saying that both parties 'agree this cause may be decided as an uncontested matter' and says they have waived their rights to a trial.

The couple two got married at an Indian tiger sanctuary tied the knot in October 2010 were taking some time apart when Brand allegedly surprised his wife by filing for divorce in late December.

Reports of marital discord haunted the couple in the months leading up to their very public split, but Brand has spoken out about his wish to keep things friendly.

'I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends,' he said in a statement.

And in a few cryptic tweets posted earlier in the week he opined: 'We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them' he wrote, citing a quote by Albert Einstein.

Then added: 'What a twerp.'
