9021...WOE! AnnaLynne McCord and Shenae Grimes are arresting in ebony as they film shock cemetery scene

By Amelia Proud

Black humour: AnnaLynne McCord and Shenae Grimes share a giggle during a break from filming a mystery funeral for 90210 today

If you love a mystery then feast your eyes upon these pictures... because it looks as though somebody isn't going to make it into the next series of CW's 90210.

The cast were spotted at Hollywood Forever cemetery today, filming what looked suspiciously like a funeral scene.

Fans of the comely AnnaLynne McCord and Shenae Grimes, who play Naomi Clark and Annie Wilson respectively, can breathe a sigh of relief however, as they are safe.

The delightful pair were anything but funereal as they bounced around between takes, stifling fits of giggles.

Their outfits at least, were approaching sombre, with McCord, 24 , togged out in black pinafore dress with matching fedora and wedge shoes.

Grimes, 22 , was arguably too sexy for her cemetery in a fitted obsidian lace and satin affair, which was paired with chunky suede heels in a matching hue.

Funeral chic: McCord and Grimes looked fabulous in their black attire, but still so Beverly Hills... until Shenae ditched her heels for some comfy slippers

Funeral for a friend? It wasn't clear which character had passed away as the main protagonists larked around

Are you taking this seriously? Shenae in particular seemed to be having a whale of a time

They were joined by co-stars Jessica Stroup, Tristan Wilds, Matt Lanter and Jessica Lowndes, which means Erin, Dixon, Liam and Adrianna aren't about to bid a farewell, either.

But somebody appeared to be getting a send off, as the smartly attired, genetically blessed cavalcade of Beverly Hill beauties marched purposefully through the graveyard.

Season four arrived on our screens on January 17, live and kicking its Louboutin heels into the labyrinthine affairs of its privileged protagonists.

Actress Arielle Kebbel, 26 , put the cat amongst the pigeons with her character, Vanessa, who won the affections of Matt Lanter's Liam away from Grimes' Annie.

Living to see another series: Jessica Lowndes and Gillian Zinser were both on hand for the scenes, meaning and Ivy are safe

Never work with children and animals: AnnaLynne had a canine companion for the scenes

Fancy a lift? Shenae gets a ride from Tristan after her shoes become too uncomfortable

She wasn't evident at the graveside shoot today.

She told Hollywood Life recently: 'My arrival stirs up more than just Liam’s emotions, he has to figure out what he wants for his future in all aspects of his life.'

'As the season continues, Liam and Vanessa get closer and learn they have similar troubled pasts,' Arielle continued.

'I think that brings them closer together. Instead of judging each other’s pasts, they see the good in one another and encourage change for the future.'

What a hoot! It wasn't a real funeral so laughs all round for the cast as they made the most of the sunshine

Well earned rest: AnnaLynne also discarded her heels as she ran through a scene with Tristan Wilds, who plays Dixon

She added: 'The fun thing about Vanessa is that there are good intentions behind her schemes,” Arielle says. 'Enjoy the ride 90210 fans - you never know what she’s up to next!'

Arielle also agrees with my assumption that Vanessa could very much be described as a 'female Liam.'

But could she be bidding farewell at the end of this action-packed season?
