'The fuss is ridiculous!' Christine Bleakley hits back at hate messages from Dancing on Ice fans

By Alanah Eriksen

She has been blasted with hate messages by Dancing On Ice fans for replacing Holly Willoughby as host.

But Christine Bleakley says she refuses to let the comments get her down.

The former Daybreak star has been branded 'the ugliest presenter on TV' who 'deserves to die'.

Thick skin: Christine Bleakley has defended her hosting abilities on Dancing On Ice, as fans write hateful messages

She's been called anorexic, wooden, talentless and one person even commented that she 'had the warmth of a cold tap'.

The 32-year-old told The Sun today: 'The fuss is ridiculous! If two or three people are wanting to say something that is not nice out of ten million watching then that's fine.

'I was overwhelmed by the lovely comments I got and that's all I focus on.'
And she has the support of her family.

Her sister Nicola, 30, told the Daily Star: 'I don’t understand why such nasty and personal comments are written.

'But you’ve got to take it on the chin. We know the truth.

'It annoys me that anyone would think badly of her as anyone knows she is such a genuine person.'

An ITV spokesman insisted: 'We’ve had positive feedback about Christine and Phillip Schofield presenting the new series.'

Making it work: Christine with her co-host Philip Schofield on last week's show

Christine, who overcome a bout of food poisoning last week, admitted she had a few jitters before starting her new job.

'Absolutely I was nervous,' she said.

'There is that sense when you do a show that is already up and running and it's all new for you... definitely I was.

'After show No1 I thought, 'I now have my bearings and I know where I want to be.'
She said replacing Holly, 30, was a 'dream come true'.

She was dropped days later from Daybreak, along with co-host Adrian Chiles.

The star, who is engaged to footballer Frank lampard, said she loved working with Phillip Schofield, although is scared she may laugh out loud on air because of his filthy sense of humour in the ad breaks.

'He's wicked, he just slips in little comments when you don't expect it, I'm having a ball.'
